COMMERCIAL PUBLISHING ATTEMPTS:
• 2004.12.27 — 2007.05.29: Complete manuscript made it through the first two editorial levels with Baen Books with good reviews, but after Jim Baen passed away, it was ultimately rejected due to cutbacks with new senior editor after 885 days.
• 2007.06.19 — 2008.05.07: Complete manuscript was rejected by DAW Books, that it would not be a commercial success for their company.
• 2008.09.04 — 2009.02.15: Complete manuscript resubmitted to Baen Books. Discovered through the Baen message board that the new senior editor's slush pile process is still broken and very few manuscripts are being read.
• 2009.02.24 — 2009.09.23: Query letter and first ten pages of the manuscript were submitted electronically to Ace / Rock Science Fiction and Fantasy. Query rejected, citing the story would not bring commercial success to the company.
• 2009.02.29: Opened dialog with the Raccoon's Bookshelf as possibly a future production project for him. |
