August 4, 2009 - The domain name for talkaboutcomics.com expired, leaving the forums unavailable.

August 5, 2009 - The talkaboutcomics.com name is renewed, DNS servers resolved, and back open for business.

This seems to be happening a LOT lately, even with sites that had a valid credit card on file with their registrars.

You'd almost think someone is trying to rig the system to grab and cyber-squat on domain names or something...   Shocked

One of the reasons I renew for a 10-year period... besides, it's cheaper for the economy-sized version.   Wink

There's a still another year and a half left on Dennier.com before the next renewal.

...And talk about comics decided to have some indigestion (08 August 2010)

While they came back up, I wonder for how long...

Judging from the last year's post from Merlin, about this same time of the year, it's my guess that their domain name expired again.

Web domain registrars send out reminders in plenty of time for users to get them renewed before they expire, so if an expiration does occur, that's the fault of someone not paying attention. I got a 45 day reminder for one of my two domains last week and I've already renewed it for yet another year.  I have the opportunity that I could renew it for several years at a time, but poor wolf is poor and can only handle it a year at a time right now.
