Thanks. I now have ammunition so that whenever I hear someone complain of feeling a little under the weather, I tell them not to mention it to the boss or they'll get sent to the ER for a cold or allergy (usually said in a voice that carries into our boss' office). Fortunately, she knows it for the teasing it's meant to be, but in the back of my mind I'm still miffed that I have ER bills for something that was no more serious than a sinus infection. Granted, it was done for my own safety (since it could have been more serious), but my wallet doesn't understand...

Web domain registrars send out reminders in plenty of time for users to get them renewed before they expire, so if an expiration does occur, that's the fault of someone not paying attention. I got a 45 day reminder for one of my two domains last week and I've already renewed it for yet another year. I have the opportunity that I could renew it for several years at a time, but poor wolf is poor and can only handle it a year at a time right now.

Not looking forward to the bills from my recent visit to the ER last week. Good to hear though that you're feeling better.

Judging from the last year's post from Merlin, about this same time of the year, it's my guess that their domain name expired again.

Ah, I didn't realize that I never followed up with "the rest of the story". Basically, I was under stress for a while in my job and my blood pressure was elevated, but not substantial enough to require meds. The whole incident with the dizziness was simply fluid in my nasal cavity, which put pressure on my inner ear.
Once I got the proper meds and rest, everything cleared up and I was left only with bills from the ER visit. I've not had a repeat of the incident. |

(I just found this when I checked on the reply notification to the "TAC Domain Expired" thread.)
So? Survey Says? You probably mentioned it in CTC and I missed it. |

Well, I've had an interesting couple of days... Sorry I've not been very active online lately, but I started a new job last week in my office that came with a promotion and different duties. However, since they still haven't back-filled my old position, I've had to do those duties as well. My stress level has been through the roof, but somehow I've managed to stay on top of things. However, I was unaware of an underlying condition that gave me and my office a bit of a scare yesterday.
Around 11am, I started feeling lightheaded at work. I'd had a decent breakfast, but it was about time for lunch, so I walked downstairs to the nearby cafeteria and got a sandwich, but when I came back up the stairs, I started to stumble from dizziness. My sandwich needed to be heated up a bit, so I put it in our office microwave for a bit, and while standing there, I felt my equilibrium tilt. Good thing I was holding onto the microwave cabinet or I would have fallen over. I took my food back to my desk to eat it, not knowing that our secretary had gone to get one of the supervisors. He came by to check on me and I told him about feeling dizzy. At that point, I was still dizzy enough that I had to stay seated.. Worried, he went and got our chief out of a meeting and she came and talked to me very earnestly. I told her that I'd had sinus pressure for several days and that it was likely just an infection. She was concerned it could be something much, much worse, and was probably thinking worst case scenarios. She wound up calling the base 911, and soon a couple of medics showed up to look me over. They took my pulse, temp, blood pressure and asked me a lot of questions usually related to a heart attack or stroke victim. I was feeling okay, other than the dizziness and small headache in my sinuses (have had that for several days). They said that my heart rate and temp were fine, but my blood pressure was elevated. They recommended I go to a doctor, so I call my family physician, but every doctor in that place was booked solid for the day. The medics (who had arrived in an ambulance), offered to take me to the Midwest City hospital ER, but I declined and called my Mom instead. She's retired now and was working in her garden, but she came up to get me and took me instead to a local Access Medical (one of the AM/PM emergency places around). There, they looked me over, took the same vitals, but decided to refer me to the local ER instead for more detailed testing. So.... I wound up going to the ER anyway. Once there, I got in quickly (a miracle in itself), went through the same vitals yet again, but the questions they asked me were much more broad ranged and detailed. They took a blood sample for testing, hooked me up to an EKG monitor, automatic blood pressure machine and kept asking more questions. My blood pressure had been elevated when it was first taken by the base medics, but my hospital doctor told me that although high, it was not high enough to cause the dizziness I'd experienced. I went through about 6 different rooms, one of them to have a CAT scan of my head (to see if I still had my marbles, I suspect). After quite a while there, Eileen showed up after getting off work early and she got there just before the doctor arrived with the results of all the tests. He said my temperature was good, my heart looked good and strong, my lungs where clear, my liver appeared fine, and my brain scan looked good and clean. However, one of my sinus cavities was completely opaque with fluid in the CAT scan, appearing as if it was likely putting pressure on my inner ear, causing the lightheaded dizziness. In the end, it was nothing more than a sinus infection, which is what I'd suggested in the beginning, so I was prescribed an antibiotic, steroids and a medication for vertigo for the dizziness, and a work release to keep me from driving for at least 2-3 days. I slept in late this morning, but woke up with a headache and still lightheaded, so I made breakfast so I could take my meds. I've taken several naps today, and with a battery operated blood pressure monitor, have been recording my BP through the day. My wife Eileen's now home and making supper, so I'm about to be well fed. The ER doc made me promise to get in to see my family physician sometime next week and take him recordings of my blood pressure over the course of several days. I suspect that I may be on BP meds soon... |

There's a still another year and a half left on Dennier.com before the next renewal.

One of the reasons I renew for a 10-year period... besides, it's cheaper for the economy-sized version.
